Originally sprouting from the sunny coastline of Southern California, Shellby House
is an Acupuncturist & Herbalist practicing Chinese Medicine in Eureka, California.
Here in home sweet Humboldt, she discovered early on that earth-based medicine
is what truly sparks her passion. After many years carving her path as an
Herbalist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner in the Pacific Northwest, she feels
honored to help members of her community heal and thrive.

Shellby earned her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Her capstone project explored domestic cultivation of Asian medicinal herbs as a way to address diminishing herb populations worldwide and the growing challenges within global supply chains — issues that directly impact the sustainability of Chinese herbal practice in the West. This remains a subject she cares deeply about. Shellby completed dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Dance and Religious Studies at Humboldt State University, with a focus on Traditions of Asia. She has practiced Western Herbalism for over a decade, rooted in training from the Northwest School for Botanical Studies in Fieldbrook, CA.

Shellby’s treatment approach focuses on connecting with the body’s innate wisdom — listening with all of the senses and allowing what arises to guide the healing process. She considers nature her greatest teacher and ally in harmonizing body, mind, and spirit. In the clinic, she helps patients find relief from pain, nurture emotional well-being, and cultivate vitality. Her approach weaves together acupuncture, nutritional therapy, herbal medicine, and simple lifestyle practices to support balance and wellness.

When she is not in the clinic, Shellby can be found hiking and foraging along forested trails, bottom fishing in the salty sea, tending the garden, or dancing with friends in the community.
